Who Takes Care of Me?
Anesthesia care provided by NPAC is administered by a board certified anesthesiologist.  You may not be certain of the education and training required to become an anesthesiologist.  You will find an explanation in The Training Pathway for Anesthesiologists.

Phases of Anesthesiology Care
Anesthesiology is a medical specialty.  Though the concerns with general medical problems are shared across many medical specialties, Phases of Anesthesiology Care describes the unique concerns, responsibilities and activities anesthesiologists bring to the care of surgical patients.  

Anesthesia Choices
Anesthesiology tends to be a very mysterious medical specialty because the desired result is usually complete unawareness during a procedure.  In this section, you will find explanations of the Anesthesia Choices and what your anesthesiologist does to care for you during your procedure.  Information in this section will help you understand some of the differences, benefits and choices related to each type of anesthesia.

Standards of Care
After decades of experience across a variety of care environments, procedures and policies have been established that are intended to assure high quality medical care.  Many factors come into play when assuring anesthesia care is safe and appropriate.  Learn about the Standards of Care which help doctors and their staff know the requirements for safety, define basic measures of quality, and then continually seek improvement in patient care.
